Story. We started Ember after seeing both the promise and the pitfalls of AI up close.
Like many companies, we saw the incredible promise of generative AI. We wanted to build with it, innovate with it, and make it our own.
But to use it, we were faced with a choice: send our most sensitive data to a third-party cloud, or spend months wrestling with complex, unreliable open-source setups.
We believed this was a false choice. Powerful AI shouldn’t require a compromise on privacy.
So we built what we wished existed: a simple, powerful device that brings AI home. Ember was born from our own need for a better way, a way for companies like ours, and yours, to truly own their intelligence.
People. Founded in September 2025 by Walid El Mouahidi and Rayan Zeggari, Ember is the culmination of a shared passion for leveraging technology to solve real-world problems.
Our journey began at King's College London, where we studied mathematics and developed a strong foundation in problem-solving and critical thinking.
